Lisa’s Top Tips for Bra Care

JUST A GENTLE HAND WASH

We recommend a gentle, lukewarm hand wash as the best washing option for preserving the life of your bra. Handwashing ensures that the hooks are not getting pulled, or getting caught on other parts of the bras. Damaged hooks can lead to a bra no longer fitting correctly and damage to the more delicate parts.

Often, manufacturers may void a warranty on a product if there is evidence that a product has not been hand-washed or not washed according to the manufacturers care instructions. You can check online, or ask us in store if you have questions about manufacturers care instructions.

If you do choose to machine wash, then use a delicate cycle and use a bra wash bag to protect the hooks and clips. Using a wash bag also helps to keep your bra, in shape.

NEVER PUT YOUR BRA IN THE DRYER!

The high temperatures used in a dryer can ruin the elastic and heats the underwire causing friction, melting and damage. This damaged underwire often increases the risk of wire breakthrough.

THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER

We suggest always maintaining a rotating number of three ‘everyday’ bras.
Having three rotating bras allows for one on, one in the wash and one spare. Rotating your bras increases the life span of each of your favorite bras, as it enables the elastic in the band & straps to relax.
